Who we are

The Institute for governance and Peace (IGP) is a research, training, and consulting forum that contributes practical solutions to Somalia’s organizational and social development challenges, headquartered in Mogadishu with branches in other Federal Member states.

The Institute  was established in Somalia on 08/Jun/ 2008, with professionals who have experience working in various African regions. IGP strives to innovate sustainable solutions and develop competencies within the public, private, and non-profit sectors. We achieve this through research, innovation, training, information dissemination, and quality technical advice.

We support government institutions, private companies, civil service organizations, NGOs, and other organizations to get the best out of our connected world. We refer to connection in all its forms including personal, social, economic, scientific, and emotional. Together, we will build a common platform for our society to bridge where we are now and wherewe want to be. We are a senior team of professionals with diverse backgroundsthat celebrates the unique insights each person brings. Our team comprises a multi-talented team with qualifications and experience in various sectors,including economics, finance, law, policy analysis, data analysis, monitoring and evaluation, planning, security, communications, and technology. Our consultants boast over 20 yearsof experience conducting research and policy analysis for government institutions, NGOs, civil society organizations, and theprivate sector.

On IGP, we recognize that change is the most constant element in today’s globalized and highly dynamic world. For individuals and institutions to perform better at solving individual, organizational and societal challenges, we believe that we must devise new, strategic, and creative ways of managing change.

Our mission

  • Proactively engages with regulatory agencies and other government organizations to contribute to the continuous development of appropriate and progressive rules, standards, and practices on good governance;
  • Provides a forum/venue to share and exchange ideas regarding good governance for professional development and cooperation; and
  • Provides good governance training, knowledge, and resources to promote advocacy and practice.
